About Shinning Hope Initiative
Shinning Hope Initiative is a nonprofit community-based organization (CBO) registered under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in Kenya (Certificate No: 05206). We are based in Mathare, Nairobi, one of the largest urban slums in Kenya, where poverty and injustice deeply affect children and families.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to restore hope and transform lives through education, empowerment, and community support.

Our Approach – Holistic Transformation
We believe poverty must be addressed from every angle. That’s why our programs are designed to educate, empower, and restore communities:
We Educate
Providing free schooling, uniforms, books, daily meals, and medical care to children in Mathare.
Empowerment
Offering vocational training for parents, youth, and teen mothers (skills like tailoring, hairdressing, welding, and carpentry).
Restoration
Supporting physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through mentorship, healthcare, and community outreach.
